Always finds you the best prices when booking a flight. It is very reliable 

Kiwi

Comparatively, the lowest airfare website, that offers free protection for your connecting flights for peace of mind. 

Google Flights

Excellent user experience and customer review, with well laid out and intiuitive interface. Its best features is the ability to enable you search for flights across multiple airports with one query

Kayak

A household name and very reliant in finding decent flight search options at decent prices. It also has ravel packages for hotel bookings, car rentals and cruises

Skiplagged

Instead of searching for tickets strictly from City A to City B, Skiplagged also searches for hidden-city tickets 

Trainline

270 rail and coach companies that offers customers travel to thousands of destinations in and across 45 countries in Europe.

Momondo

Brilliant for searching international flights, especially business-class tickets. They work by aggregating online ticket prices across multiple platforms

Opodo

offers deals on regular and charter flights, it also offers low-cost airline search, hotels and car rentals. I find it helpful when travelling to North America. 

 

Hopper

if you are on the go and have little or no access to a laptop or computer, this mobile app helps you search for cheap flight prices. It can predict flight prices for up to a year in advance, and claims up to 95% accuracy.

Tips for getting cheap flights

It is possible to get cheap flights, regardless of your preferred flight path

  • Book two to three weeks in advance

    Skyscanner says the best time to book is three weeks ahead for domestic flights and two weeks for international. Prices jump after that, especially in the final week

  • Earn travel rewards from credit cards

    Earn free flights with frequent flyer miles through travel rewards cards. Most airlines offer them, often with perks like discounts and VIP lounge access

  • Take your trip in off-peak season

    Skyscanner suggests booking domestic flights at least three weeks ahead and international flights two weeks ahead. Prices climb after that and spike in the final week

  • Occasionally clear your browser history 

    Clearing your browser’s cache and cookies can also help you find better deals by wiping stored site data and starting fresh

  • Revolut

    Is a revolutionary financial app for all things money. From your everyday spending, to planning for your future with savings and investments. You can pay for products and services in any country and their local currency without being charged or paying for transaction charges. You also gain reward points as you spend that you can use in millions of shops around the world.

  • XE Currency Converter

    XE Currency Converter is a handy tool for checking the latest currency exchange rate when traveling and for changing money if you want to. It is easy and simple to use and usually 98% accurate.

Accommodation

Booking.com

An absolute favourite accommodation booking website; with an easy interface that provides the cheapest and best deals, with a customer review section to help in making informed decision about a property. 

HostelWorld

Over 35000 properties in over 178 countries, and the the only accommodation required if traveling on a budget. Some of the rooms are Dorm rooms, or private single room. You need to be careful as to your belongings and general security.

Agoda.com

This is usually very useful if you are travelling to the Far East and Asia. They usually offer the lowest prices for hotels and they have great rewards.

Couchsurfing

Here people offer their couch or spare room to travellers. This is another cheap way to travel, and it is also a brilliant way to meet locals and make new friends.

Airbmb

Airbnb is the best option if you don’t like living out of a suitcase. Share a house with your host or rent the entire house or apartment for your self or group. You have cooking facilities and it’s ideal if you are traveling with children. 

Hotel Tonight

If you are always on the road, this is a fabulous way to get incredible last minute hotel deals, you can get a 5 star hotel room for as much as 80% discount. This is one of my favourites in booking last minute getaway.

Insurance Providers in Europe

Students from non-EU countries are not covered for any free medical attention off-campus and must therefore have their own private insurance. Please note that heavy levies are charged for all hospitalization and it is advised to make provision for adequate medical insurance.

Non-EU students are required to show proof of comprehensive medical insurance when registering with the Garda National Immigration Bureau. Proof of health insurance is also required when applying for a student visa.

Students are strongly advised to arrange insurance for private medical care as this ensures the choice of hospital, doctor and hospital accommodation in the event of illness.

They feature "Surprise Agency" deals—affordable opaque bookings revealing the rental agency only post-transaction. Importantly, Momondo has no booking fees.

  • Rental Cars

    This is one of the biggest car metasearch engines and is available in over 60,000 locations worldwide, they offer free cancelation and have customer service advisors in more than 40 languages and of course offers very good deals.

  • Priceline

    This car comparison platform rose to prominence with the “Priceline Negotiator” and “Name Your Own Price” features. While these specific tools have been phased out, opaque bookings remain an option. For those indifferent to a specific agency, Priceline's Express Deals are ideal. The exact agency is revealed post-booking, and reservations are final.

They have holiday packages that are just one click package that takes care of all your holiday needs.

  • Trip Advisor

Travelers across the globe use the Tripadvisor site and app to discover where to stay.

  • Jet2holidays

    As the name suggest, this holiday platform exclusively book amazing and affordable beach holidays. They pride themselves as the largest and best UK beach travel retailers and rightly so. They provide you with great beach destinations at amazing prices. On the Beach act as an agent, providing a web search interface between you and various third party suppliers of travel products (e.g. flight, hotel or transfer). You can, however, still get good deals on opaque bookings (one in which certain details are hidden until after the transaction is complete). If you don’t have a car rental agency preference, check out one of Priceline’s Express Deals. With these rentals, you won’t know the exact agency until after your booking is complete, and the reservations are non-refundable.

    At TravelSupermarket, it a travel aggregation website that searches thousands of individual package holidays from more than 20 companies and gives you the best value for your money.
